When you are in the alpha mind state, you will be able to focus on the work you are doing and you will also be able to block out any distraction. For example, if you are preparing for an important exam, you can get your mind to the alpha state so that you can fully relax and concentrate on the presentation you are doing and block out other internal and external distractions.

As you can see, meditation, mental training can definitely help you with your work as well as your personal life. Research have found that people who know how to meditate and control their mind state are more efficient at work and are more in control of their emotions. They know how to block out the negative emotions to preserve energy.
